Nicolaas Botha

Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy – BPhysT (Hons)
With a passion for promoting physical health, Nicolaas Botha is RENU’s in-house Physiotherapist. He has immense experience working with sports teams, with a focus on enhancing performance, preventing injuries and keeping players on the field. He seamlessly carries this knowledge and experience over to patients with a wide range of physical activity – from sedentary desk-workers to professional athletes.
Prior to moving to Dubai, Nicolaas Botha lived and worked in South Africa. He held the position of Head of Medical and Sport Science at the University of Pretoria Football Club, working for the South African Premier Soccer League. He also built on his knowledge and experience, treating elite athletes in the University’s High Performance Program from 2010 to 2018.
Between 2018 and 2023, Nicolaas Botha further honed his skills, working at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital as a Senior Sports Physiotherapist. He gladly brings his expertise to Dubai, and is proudly part of the Renu Health Clinic team. He is a member of the South African Sports Medicine Association, registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa, and licenced with the Dubai Health Authority.
Nicolaas Botha holds a BPhysT with Honours, and has a special interest in sports injuries – particularly in relation to tendinopathy and knee, ankle and foot injuries. With a dedication to continuous development and patient education, Nicolaas Botha has co-authored research appearing in a leading sport and exercise medical journal and is currently working towards his Masters in Sport Physiotherapy.
In his spare time, Nicolaas Botha remains very involved in sports, practicing as a licensed football and rugby coach. His coaching education and time spent in professional sport give him unique, targeted insight into all aspects of successful return-to-play rehabilitation.
